DIY mason jar decor

So the other day I was on Pinterest (love it so much!) and found this super cute way to decorate mason jars. The blog this is based off of is linked at the bottom :)
The three jars I used were a cleaned spaghetti sauce jar, cleaned jelly jar, and cleaned curry sauce jar. If you don't have any food in jars, you can always buy some jars all by themselves. I know they have some at World Market.

Supplies:
- modge podge
- paint brush
- jar(s)
- scrapbook paper or wrapping paper
- scissors
- newspaper

Directions:
1. First, lay out the newspaper to protect the surface you're working on. Then, trace the lid of the jar onto the back of the scrapbook/wrapping paper.
2. I've already done this in the picture above, but next cut out around the traced circle by about 1 inch.
3. Then, grab your scissors and cut little slits ending at the trace lid outline. The slits should be about 1/4-1/2 inch wide.
4. Use the paint brush to brush modge podge onto the top of the lid and put the lid on the middle of the paper. Flip the lid over and press down on the paper.
4. This is probably the most tedious part of this project. You're going to flip the lid back over and brush modge podge onto the side of the lid, but just for a certain section at a time.
5. Then you're going to take one of the slits and fold it over and brush modge podge on top of it.
Repeat steps 4 & 5 until all of the slits are folded over and the lid looks like this.
6. Flip the lid back over and coat it all with a thin layer of modge podge.
 7. Let dry and you're finished! Screw onto the jar and fill with cute goodies!

Monogram App

This is literally my favorite app ever! (Flappy bird is a close second though :) It's called Mongrams and it's $2 but totally worth it. There's also a lite version that's free, but not as good. It looks like this:
The monogram I used below is also $1 extra, but it's not only this one, there's about 15 more that you get.
I know it's on the App Store for both iPad and iPhone but I'm not sure about Androids. I hope that you get it and enjoy it!

Lilly Monogram Stickers!

As you probably know, two of my favorite things are Lilly Pulitzer and monograms, and when I find something combining the two, I'm on cloud nine! I was looking around on Etsy and came upon these super cute vinyl stickers!

Adorable, right?!?! I haven't bought any yet, but I'm planning on purchasing some soon!

Cute DIY Canvas Tote Bag

This bag is so cute and easy to make. I made it for some people for Christmas and they loved it! Since I used another blog for the instructions, I linked the post. Here are the steps of how I made my bags, and a picture of the bag I made.

For the bag:
1. Purchase the following supplies (I found all of mine at Michael's): plain canvas totes, black multi-surface paint, paper doilies, spray adhesive (preferably not permanent, but mine was permanent and
had instructions on how to make it only a temporary hold, which is what you want)
2. Spray the back of the doily with the spray adhesive and attach to the corner of the tote. Not all of the doily should be on the bag.
3. Paint over the holes of the doily, but not over the edge, with the paint.
4. Peel the doily off before the paint dries.

For the monogrammed letter:
I think that she used a stencil, which is probably easier, but this is how I did it and it worked for me :)
1. On a computer, type a letter in whichever font you want and change the size to around 200-300. Then print.
2. Cut out the letter and, using a pencil, trace its outline onto the bag in the corner where the doily is.
3. Paint in the outline.

There you have it! This bag is perfect for so many things. I hope you enjoy making and using it!
